| Introduction:
Super Off Road the Baja is basically a 3rd person perspective off road
racing game that is the sequel to Super Off Road. When i first saw this
game i was worried that it would suffer the same fate as Tradewest
first Super Off-Road on the Snes,terrible control. But i was pleasantly
surprised to find a good racing game.
Graphics [7/10]:
I thought the graphics in this game were very good but i have heard
several people disagree. The only problems i have are the objects are
too pixelized such as roadside houses and your car. Also the game
suffers from flicker when too many object are on screen, i haven't seen
flicker since the Atari 2600.Overall the graphics are great for a Snes
with only minor problems.
Music & Sound [5/10]:
The sound effects in this game are just stupid. For example when you
run over a cow or a deer it screems, ever hear a screeming cow? A few
sounds are ok for example when you fire a nitro of brake. The engine
sounds are just about average. The music is good in this game except
their are only one or two tracks.
Game Play [9/10]:
Gameplay is just about perfect in this game. Every track from the
first to the last are fun to play. The control is less then desirable because
when you steer the cars stays in that position instead of centering and
facing forward. But soon you will overcome this problem. Also the
pitstop is a nice feature where you equip you cars with things like a
improved engine and headlights.
Challenge & Replay [2/10]:
The game really suffers in this department. I finished the eight
tracks in one day! There are 3 difficulty levels which will take a little
while to beat. Also there is a secret track named the Fun Track with lots of
hills and nitros. I rarely play it now but when i do i play through the
whole thing.
Conclusion & Overall [8/10]:
This is a great buy and will give you a lot of shortlived fun while it
last. Its still available in a few stores such as Wal-Mart to.
