Introduction:
Sim City is the Super Nes version of the classic game Sim City that
came out in 1989 for PC's. In this game you our the mayor of a City and
all you start out with is a landform with water, forest, and open areas.
It is your job to zone the land for residential, commercial, or
industrial development. Also it is your job to supply power by building
either nuclear or coal fired power plants and then connecting all your
zones with power lines to supply them with electric power. Also as mayor
it is your job to build a transportation network with rail lines, roads,
airports, and seaports. You also recieve gifts after reaching a certain
population etc to give to your Sim citizens like a expo, train station,
and a Mario statue.
Graphics [8/10]:
The graphics in this game are ok with the buildings looking the way you
would expext them to and they all look different when at different
levels of development. The gifts are some of the most interesting zones
with things like parks, zoos, and amusmentparks. Also when to side by
side zones that are residential or commercial reach their top level they
become a combined top. The disasters in the game are interesting but
could of been designed a lot better. Overall the graphics are a lot
better them the PC version of Sim City.
Music and Sound [7/10]:
The music in the game is ok and their is a different song for village,
town, city, capital, metropolis, and megalopolis. But after being a
certain level of development like a Metropolis for a long time the music
can get very annoying so Nintendo included a option to turn off the
music but not the sound effects. Overall this game has ok music.
Game Play [9/10]
When i first got this game i thought the control would not be that good
with using a standard control pad but as soon as i started playing i
found out that the control was very good. I was hoping that when
Nintendo rereleased this game as a Players Choice game they would
include support for the Snes mouse which was not released when this game
was originaly released. But sadly Nintendo did not include support for
the mouse which would have made this already great game even better.I
like the way in which you pick options and different buildings in this
game. This game for some reason is one of the most addicting games ever
made. Even after owning this game for years it is easy to put the game
in and play for hours at a time.
Challenge and Replay [10/10]:
The challenge in this game is very good with it being very difficult
ever to become a megalopolis. Nintendo included a practice option in
which Dr. Wright guides you through all the steps in making a city. Also
Dr Wright will pop up sometimes in a normal game to warn you that a
disaster is happening, high levels of crime etc. Also included in the
game is a game scenario scetion where you pick a certain city and solve
the problems in a certain period of time. This game has almost unlimited
replay value!!!
Conclusion/Overall [9/10]:
This game is another great game from Nintendo for the Snes. This game
is sure to provide hours of fun for anyone.
