Super Nintendo Games

Name: Mortal Kombat
Introduction:

This game was very popular in the arcades because of one reason: The Blood!!! You can choose from 7 selectable fighters and you must win the tournament and defeat the hideous Goro!!! Each of the fighters has two or more special moves and two fatalities.

Graphics [7/10]:

The fighters are all digitized and are very real and look spectacular, but there not as big or as crisp as in the arcade version. There is little chance you'll see any blood because the game is censored for general exhibition. But there is plenty of the red stuff in MK 2, and 3. The animation sometimes slows down which is a dissapointment.

Game Play [10/10]:

The game is just like fast food.... quick and satisfiying!!! I found it a bit hard at first, but I managed to finish it in 3 days. It's easy, since you have infinite continues (not so, in the sequels). You'll need tons of practice to find out the special moves, but I have found some. I have written an incomplete listing of moves for most characters.

Music and Sound [8/10]:

The music is spookily silly, but it's pretty good. They used real instruments, and there are plenty of bone-crunching effects and speech samples, and groans. Many of the characters have the same speech sounds.

Challenge and Replay [8/10]:

You'll play this until you've found out all the special moves and hidden characters. One thing is that the ending is the same on every difficult setting, which is kind of sad.

Conclusion/Overall [9.5/10]:

If you really enjoyed this game, you'll definatley want to play the sequels. They have a much improved game engine and design. Overall, it is VERY good!!!
