You are the last hope of the people of Gradius for
peace. They built you a $100,000,000,000,000,000
starship, called M.A.X., which stands for Modulated
Artillery Exalter. Like it’s prototype, the warp
rattler, only a pilot of the highest caliber can make
maximum use of its power resources.
Graphics [10/10]:
The graphics in this game are great. When you are
moving up and down you can see the bottom of the ship.
At the bosses the bosses move with a lot of detail.
Music and Sound [10/10]:
The music in this game is nice. When you get to the
stage after the bonus, the music changes so you know.
When you get blown up there is a loud noise that alerts
you. When you defeat a guardian there is an exploding
sound so you know you are at the bonus.
Game play [7/10]:
It’s tough if you haven’t beaten it yet. It is very
fun. It has a lot of close calls in it.
Challenge and Replay [6/10]:
The challenge of replaying this game is not very good.
You know what to do and the enemies are easy. The final
boss is probably the easiest one.
Conclusion/Overall [8/10]:
If you like spaceships, PLAY NOW! If you like lasers,
PLAY NOW! If you like both, PLAY NOW! PLAY NOW! It is
very fun.

Pause the game and push Up, Up, Down, Down, L, R, L, R,
B, A, start and you will have full options.
30 Lives
On the Title screen, hold Left, hit A thrice, and
continue your game normally.
Full Options
While playing the game, press Start to pause the game.
Then hit Up, Up, Down, Down, L, R, L, R, B, A, and
Start. You can do this once per stage.
5 Extra Continues
On the Title screen press X as quickly as possible until
you have nine continues. Then continue the game
normally. This will not work with the 30 Lives code.
