Description:
Believe it or not, those wonder teens we all know and love/hate are still around. Though not as popular as they were five years ago, the Power Rangers continue to fight evil minions, battle with Zords (huge robots) and rescue citizens in distress.
The Game Boy Color game based on the latest Ranger series, Lightspeed Rescue, is a surprisingly decent adventure game. While it can't compete with the likes of Super Mario Bros. DX or Donkey Kong Country, it will provide younger Ranger fans with hours of "Mighty Morphin" fun.
Game Features:
- Rescue citizens in need, fight battles and take on giant-sized "Omega Zords"
- Put your Ranger skills to the test on more than 20 missions (including some hidden ones)
- Play on three difficulty levels
- Return to where you left off via the password system
Things to keep in mind:
This game lacks variety. Expect to encounter the same obstacles again and again on the repetitive missions.
Who would enjoy this game?
Power Rangers fans, of course! Since the gameplay gets low marks, the gamer's interest in Power Rangers counts most. Non-Ranger gamers might want to check out the fantastic games mentioned above instead.
Bottom Line: Not a great adventure game - but Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue makes a great gift for Power Rangers fans.
