On the Game Start/Option screen, press A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B. 

Sound Test

On any side-scrolling level hold A, B, X, Y in that order.
While still holding the above buttons, hold the center of the control
pad, and press start. The sound screen will appear. Press left or
right to select music, and hit A twice to listen to it. Press Down to
get to the Sound Effects, then press Left or Right to select a sound
and A to hear it. 

Thermal Bombs

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press A, X, B, X, X,
A, Y. you will hear Darth Vader say immpressive, if enter correctly. 
Select "Start Game" and press Start before the demo begins. This lets
you use thermal bombs (X Button) whenever you want.

Fun with the Introduction

On the Game Start/Option screen press Y four times. A tone will sound
if entered correctly. Select "Game Start" and press Start. Wait for
the title "Star Wars" to fade off. Then, when the introduction comes
on, use the Control Pad and L and R to rotate and scroll the words
around the screen. You can also move the Star Destroyer around, too.

100-1 Lives

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press X, Y, B, B, B,
X, A, Y, Y, B, A, X, Y. If entered correctly, you will hear Darth
Vader say "Impressive." Select "Start Game" and press Start before the
demo begins. 

Fight the End Vader

On the Start Game, and Options and Password screen, press A, X, B, A,
Y, X, B, A, A, X, B, B, Y, X. If entered correctly, you will hear a
tone. Select "Start Game" and press Start. This lets you start, fully
powered-up, at Darth Vader. 

Ultimate Power

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press A, B, Y, X, A,
B, Y, X, A, B, A, B, Y, X, X, Y, A, B, Y, X. If entered correctly, you
hear Darth Vader say "Impressive." Select "Start Game" and press Start
before the demo begins. 

Get the Force

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press X, B, B, Y, X,
A, A, X. If entered correctly, you will hear a tone. Select "Start
Game" and press Start. This allows you to begin with all of the force
powers. 

View High Scores

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press A, A, B, B. If
entered correctly, the screen will switch to the high scores. Press
any button to exit this screen. 

Invincible

First, enter the Ultimate Power code. While playing in a side
scrolling stage, using Controller 2, hold Select, A, B, X and Y.
Release all five buttons to be invincible for the remainder of the
stage. 

Debug Screen/Cheat Options

After entering the Ultimate Power code, press the L and R Buttons on
Controller 2 to enter the Game Debug screen. Use Controller 1 to
adjust options. 

7 Continues

On the Start Game, Options and Password screen, press X, Y, A, B, X,
X. If entered correctly, you will hear a "clunk" sound. Select "Start
Game" and press Start.
